If you think this is alphabet soup, stop reading. If not, take a look at Addison Clear Wave’s epoxy adhesives for your active or passive alignments of fibers, lenses, waveguides, LEDs, lasers.
A535-AN UV-curable epoxy adhesive is the standard of excellence for packaging applications in electronics and photonics. It boasts low shrinkage, outstanding adhesion, NASA level (ASTM E595) low outgassing, high Tg, and excellent environmental stability. If you can’t suffer a micron shift in alignment, A535-AN is for you. See the data sheet HERE.
A539-DM is the first choice when a portion of the bonding area is shaded. A Dual-Cure (UV or heat), epoxy adhesive with physical characteristics similar to those of A535-AN; high Tg, NASA level outgas, environmental etc. And, it’s EPOXY ONLY, not an acrylate-epoxy hybrid. A539-DM is shipped in a cold package but without Dri-Ice. It has a 6 month storage life at -20 to -40 °C and a 10-day working life at room temperature. That’s a working life without a change in viscosity over days, not minutes. See the data sheet HERE.
In addition to these two premier epoxy adhesives, ACW has variations with different viscosities and with thixotropic properties. Contact us HERE with specific questions or specifications.
