        Addison Clear Wave Moves

Addison Clear Wave moved to a new production and office facility on March 26, 2010.  The new location is in St. Charles, Illinois, about 15 miles from the old Wood Dale, Illinois facility.  An expanded production area allows for continued growth in production, and larger office, laboratory, and research development space permits an expansion of our research and quality control staff.  The move was accomplished smoothly with dual facilities operating for a short period so that there was no delay in production.

The new contact numbers for ACW are listed below.  The old phone and fax numbers will remain active for an indefinite time to avoid communication problems.  E-mail addresses are unchanged.

Prism Sheets and Brightness Enhancement Film

If you are looking for low viscosity resins for optical sheet applications such as prism sheets and BEF, ACW has the materials you need.  We offer three high refractive index resins, all with the same viscosity.  The selections of high RI permit wide variations in stamper design, and the consistent viscosities result in easy processing.  Click on the following link for details:  PR-157-S5, PR-1581-A_PR-1600-A.

AC A535-AN:  Clear, colorless epoxy film

High Tg UV epoxies for photonics

Check out the spectrum at the right for a 75 micron thick film of AC A535-AN; you can use it in the light path.  AC A535-AN cures to a high Tg, high hardness (read polishable) film with excellent high temperature stability you expect from an epoxy.  It is one of the most popular products in our line.  See the data sheet: AC A535 and AC A535-AN.

Semiconductor Packaging

Enter the next generation of CMOS, CCD and other semiconductor packaging by switching from thermal-cure to photo-cure resins.  ACW has UV-curable sealants for all your demanding packaging requirements.   AC A1438, and AC A1438-S1 have excellent adhesion to BT and FR5 substrates.  Fast UV-curing minimizes lid pop-up, and the cured films have high Tg, high temperature resistance and are suitable for solder processes.  The cured sealant meets JDEC requirements.

Optically Clear Low RI Coatings and Adhesives

Having trouble finding optically clear low RI (low refractive index) materials for coating and bonding your optoelectronics devices?  Look no further.  ACW offers high performance optically clear materials with a wide range of refractive indices (as low as 1.40 at 1550 nm).  No matter what your application might be, optical fiber cladding, waveguide bonding, or optical switch construction, ACW has products designed for your needs.  Check out the following links:  AC R220-B, AC R221, AC R262-Mod5, AC R260-A1.

Hard Coatings for Plastics

Film converters take note!  ACW offers anti-static and ultra-hard coats for plastic film applications.  AC HC-5302 provides a super-hard coat for your film that has excellent dust- and debris-repellence at a coating thickness of only 3-5 microns.  The resin easily dissolves in common solvents for web-, roll-, knife-, or dip-coating processes.  Check out the AC HC-5302 data sheet.  If you don't need anti-static properties, look at  AC HC-5619, which gives a pencil hardness up to 6-8H on PMMA.

Bio-science applications demand excellent adhesion to a range of plastic substrates with adhesives that will not extract into aqueous solutions.  ACW has the adhesives of choice.  AC A109-P forms extremely strong bonds to polystyrene, polypropylene, perfluoro media and, of course, glass.  The cured film has low shrinkage and low modulus to prevent stress in the glue line, and it has low extractables in water at 37 °C.  AC A109-P is an excellent adhesive for microplate applications.  See the data sheet at the following link AC A109-P for details.
    OLED Encapsulation

ACW has the products for both rigid and flexible display applications.  Our proven sealants offer fast UV-cure, easy processing, no out-gassing, and minimal moisture permeability.  With AC A1429-F1, you can seal any plastic substrate (including PET and PO); for details, click on the following link to see the data sheet:  AC A1429-F1.  For rigid display, try AC A1430-B and AC A1432.

Anti-Reflection Films

ACW has coatings for anti-reflective film applications.  Our unique low refractive index coating system is a UV-curable resin with excellent wetting properties that provides an optically clear and haze-free film with RI = 1.39.  LE-139UV-A5 is solvent-based and designed for wet web processing.  For multi-coat AR films, ACW offers a high RI coating (MC166-IPA-60) with RI = 1.66 that is also suitable for wet web processing.  Best AR results are obtained with a combination of the two coatings, but less than 1% reflectance can be achieved with the low RI LE-139UV-A5 when it is coated on a relatively high RI surface, such as PET.  Check the product sheets at the following links for more information.  LE139UV-A5 and MC166-IPA-60.
     For two-layer applications, consider a hard-coat base of AC HI-6100 (hardness 2H, RI = 1.56) for use with LE-139UV-A5.
